Toghu unveiled as the official AFCON match ball


Africa football ruling body, CAF has unveiled the official match-ball to be used in the 33rd edition of the biennial African showpiece.


The match-ball named "Toghu" was designed by an English sport manufacturing outfit Umbro.

The ball named after the Cameroonian traditional outfit consist of technological features, also consist of a smart panel configuration is FIFA approved.


The ball is expected to be used by the 24 teams in all 52 matches of the tournament.

The "Toghu" which is a beautifully multicolored ball has since been adopted by Cameroonians as a piece for special sport occasions.


The tournament  kick-starts on Sunday January 9th with Cameroon and Burkina Faso doing battle on the field.


Algeria would hope to defend their title after being reigning champions defeating  Senegal in the 2019 finals in Cairo.

The Pharaohs of Egypt would be hoping to make more marks after being the most successful team of the tournament with Mohammed Salah hoping to register his name as one of the greatest to ever play the game.
